“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” ― Plato
Being a teacher, to me, means that the students and their needs are put first. Students are unique and complex in their own ways, much like music. With this being said, I believe that every child deserves a well-rounded education, including not only the core classes, but the arts as well, such as music. Music education provides so much to a child’s learning experience, particularly in today’s world, it is a way for them to escape from everything else and enjoy themselves while still learning. I believe that teaching music in fun ways that the students are able to relate to, will ensure that they have the best possible experience in my classroom. In my future classroom, I will focus on the needs of my students, meaning that I will be there for them in any way that they need, especially when it comes to helping them learn music. I will incorporate fun and exciting activities that interest the students and make them want to learn and come back for more. I want my students to be able share the love and enjoyment that I feel about music, and be able to incorporate that into their own experiences for the rest of their lives.
